GDC attendees have a crazy week behind them in multiple ways. While a literal storm blew over San Francisco on Tuesday, the storm of game developers swept us back to the feeling of the 2019 edition when attendance numbers were record breaking.
To break away from the hustle and bustle, the DGA set up a Netherlands Lounge in cooperation with MeettoMatch. The Lounge was located a bit off the beaten track, which made it an excellent space to host meetings, relax and grab a coffee.
In addition to the lounge we hosted 2 side events. On Wednesday morning we were welcomed at the Dutch Consulate for a Business Breakfast. Our General Manager Martine Spaans hosted a panel with 3 AI-specialists around the topic “What could the impact of further AI development be on the game industry and society?”. We thank our excellent speakers Peter Alau (Didimo), Matthew Jack (Kythera AI) and Marguerite deCourcelle (Blockade Games, INC).
Wednesday evening we hosted the Dutch Drinks in the Lounge, which provided an excellent opportunity to catch up with Dutch industry peers and their international guests.
We thank our partners CreativeNL and the Consulate General of the Netherlands in San Francisco for making these events possible.
We plan to start our preparations for 2024 early so we can make next year’s experience even better.
