Visit of the Ministry of OCW

On January 10th we had the pleasure of hosting another visit of the Ministry of OCW (Education, Culture and Science). Together with the Secretary-General Loes Mulder (who just started in her new position a few days prior), the Director of Media and Creative Industries Youssef Louakili and the Senior Policy Officer Creative Industries & Film Samantha Castano we kicked off the afternoon at the Breda University of Applied Sciences to hear more about their game education programs and to talk to some of the student teams.

After that we headed to game development studio Stitch Heads where CEO Tim Baijens and Senior Producer Job Lauwen (both BUAS alumni) showed us the current projects and shared more about the challenges game studios face in the current market.

We closed out the day with a very special experience over at Polymorf. We first heard about the multiple cultural and social VR projects made by Studio Biarritz, like the Imaginary Friend and the upcoming Gay Simulator. After that Samantha and Youssef suited up to experience the very special multi-sensory Symbiosis. Symbiosis goes beyond the visual VR experience by adding sound, touch, scent and even taste and lets players fully emerge into a world beyond the human body.

We thank the ministry of OCW for their continued support and we look forward to hosting many more visits in 2024!
