At the 2026 edition of gamescom, no less than 28 Dutch game companies were represented at the NL Pavilion. Although our pavilion is always more aimed at practical use than at country marketing due to a lack of public funding, we’re always proud to build a recognizable orange meeting hub with stroopwafels for everyone. A big thanks to Alessandra for organising the pavilion once again!
On Wednesday, we welcomed a tour of Dutch and European policymakers, organised by Video Games Federation Netherlands. Complete with audio sets and signage, the tour was well planned and appreciated by the participants. The only thing that was missing was the umbrella for tour guide Hendrik-Jan ☂️
Meanwhile, our own chairman Jeroen had a long, in-depth interview with Nieuwsuur, which was broadcast in prime time on Dutch TV a few days later with an accompanying article published by NOS. We’ve also been in touch with the FD and AD news outlets, and Rami has an interview with BNR scheduled. We have the momentum. Will the games industry finally be recognised by the Dutch government as a strategic growth sector? Now is the time to pull through and take the next steps.
