Playdev.club returns!

Ten years ago, developer Adriaan de Jongh launched a unique initiative: a meetup where Dutch game developers could showcase their prototypes, test each other’s projects, and exchange feedback. That idea became playdev.club. In 2018, Aran Koning (Sokpop Collective) joined Adriaan in organizing these playtest meetups, helping to grow the community.

By 2022, Adriaan decided that playdev.club had run its course. But now there’s good news for the Dutch game development community: with Adriaan’s blessing, the Dutch Games Association (DGA) is reviving playdev.club! The reboot will take place at a fitting location: the Sokpop offices in Utrecht.

Playdev.club is a meetup designed specifically for game developers to bring their (early) prototypes and put them in the hands of peers. The events run under FrieNDA rules, creating a safe and open environment for honest feedback.

The first edition of the revived playdev.club will take place on September 24 at Sokpop Collective in Utrecht. If you’re a developer with a prototype, or want to see what your peers are working on, make sure to check out playdev.club for all details.
